I Am Not Infallible

We are not infallible, but God is. Infallible (def) -incapable of making mistakes or being wrong. Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. We are very fallible, thus the need for forgiveness of our sins and redemption. This is how it all works, and God's grace is sufficient for our sin problem. There is a result to believing we are infallible, though, and the book of Proverbs addresses the problem head-on. Proverbs 16:5 Everyone who is proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord; Be assured, he will not go unpunished. I don't know the punishment, but God is not mocked by anyone. Do not take Him lightly.

When we surrender to the Lord's call, we are called to prepare our hearts to lead, and we learn to lead by following the example of Jesus. We are compelled to keep a new believer from being in leadership because they are not mature enough in their walk to be able to handle the rigors of leadership. I have been in the ministry for many years, and I am still growing and learning more and more every day. To think I have all the answers would be a huge mistake, and it would be one step in the pride direction I will not take. Sometimes, when we follow our call in humility, others will come and take advantage of us and try to use us as a doormat. But if they read their Bible a little more, they will see that it is not a good move. Psalm 105:15 “Do not touch My anointed ones, And do not harm My prophets.” If there are ministers serving in your midst, the writer of Hebrews compels us to obey them and submit to them. Hebrews 13:17 Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account—so that they may do this with joy, not groaning; for this would be unhelpful for you.

We all mess up, and we should be able to mess up and still be right with God because of His grace. That same grace should be ingrained in all believers who have received it, so we will be able to give it at the proper time. Why? Because we are not infallible, but God is, and that is where it all stops. God's Word says it. I believe it. That settles it!!

Remember, to live in the peace that passes all understanding and that peace is found in God's grace alone.
