Here Comes Da Judge

Writer: David WarrenDavid Warren

How come it always seems to be a certain kind of person who gets the money, gets the popularity, gets to laugh at others' misfortunes, and always comes away as clean as a whistle? It may seem good for a while, but things built on wealth, prosperity, and making fun of others will run their course and great sorrow awaits those who do it. There are those who seem to get all the praise and all the kudos and can never be touched, but there may be a day when all of that falls to the wayside. Why? It is all superficial and Jesus, the ultimate truth will expose it for what it is. In Luke 6 Jesus speaks to the "power brokers" who seem to get their way in everything. Here is what Jesus says about them. Luke 6: 24 “What sorrow awaits you who are rich, for you have your only happiness now. 25 What sorrow awaits you who are fat and prosperous now, for a time of awful hunger awaits you. What sorrow awaits you who laugh now, for your laughing will turn to mourning and sorrow. 26 What sorrow awaits you who are praised by the crowds, for their ancestors also praised false prophets.

Only God is worthy of our praise. Only God must be glorified in all things. Only God can give us the power to live this life of righteousness because it is His righteousness. Here is the worth of our trying to be good and do good Isaiah 64 :For all of us have become like one who is unclean, And all our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment; And all of us wither like a leaf, And our wrongdoings, like the wind, take us away. When we bring all of what we thought we did that was good before the Lord He says "Rags, filthy rags." Jesus from the onset let his disciples know that all they were going to be able to do had to stand on the foundation that "it is all about God." From time to time they would try to show that God was using them from a human standpoint and Jesus would have to realign their thinking that it was "all about God."

What a great lesson and we need to learn it better. When we make it all about God we see that wealth and position are not major factors in having a good life, and serving Jesus circumvents that worldly process. It may seem like the "power mongers" are getting their way now, but that will not last and the love of God DOES. But Here Comes Da Judge!! Do it all in love with what Jesus said or you are a "cleaning cymbal" or just another nobody making noise. If we are going to make some noise, make that noise by lifting up the name of Jesus!!

The Pilgrimage Continues,
