When building a home it is necessary to have a set of blueprints. An architect is the person who draws those blueprints and takes into consideration all rules, regulations, codes, and building needs to build a home that is strong and beautiful from foundation to rooftop. Get away from the blueprint and you have got problems. We all need a blueprint for living our lives to the fullest and God gives us that blueprint as revealed in His word, the Bible, on almost every page. The prophet Jeremiah prophesied these words from God in Jeremiah 29:11 where it says, 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. God’s guarantee is that His plans for us are the best and God is the architect of those plans. Perfect in every way!!
Peter the Apostle also shared to early believers a great plan for enjoying life to it’s fullest in 1 Peter 3:8-12.
8 Finally, all of you should be of one mind. Sympathize with each other. Love each other as brothers and sisters. Be tenderhearted, and keep a humble attitude. 9 Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and he will grant you his blessing. 10 For the Scriptures say, (Psalm 34)
“If you want to enjoy life and see many happy days, keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies. 11 Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it. 12 The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right, and his ears are open to their prayers. But the Lord turns his face against those who do evil.
There is the Blueprint for a happy life. A life of joy and happiness. In a nutshell here it is.
Keep your tongue from speaking evil and don’t tell lies
Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace and keep it.
The architect has spoken and God is showing us how to build our life on a good foundation and build a beautiful home. Of course, at times we think we can do it on our own and the end result is bad. Jesus said in Matthew 7:26 26 But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. So it is one thing to hear God’s instructions, but yet another to follow them and Jesus is compelling us to follow His Words and live our life per those instruction to enjoy that full life. Jesus even goes on to share the end result of not following His teaching in in verse 27 27 When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.”
Modern day man has acquired so much “knowledge” and thinks that he can make his own plans, but God’s Wisdom is much deeper and much stronger and His ways are higher than mans. Isaiah 55:8 says 8 “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.
So quit trying to follow your own reasoning and quit trying to build your life on your perceived knowledge about life and surrender your heart, soul, mind, and strength to the Lord and let the great architect build your life with his plans. Oh how beautiful that life will be!!!
The Pilgrimage continues…..
