Faithfulness in Four Easy Steps

Step 2 - To have order in our lives is a good thing if that order is following the orders of our Master. Today's step speaks to "living in the flow" faith that responds to God at every turn with a faith-centered walk. That walk will generate some ongoing lifestyle qualities that will generate a way of living that is powered by the Holy Spirit. The following are results of the Holy Spirit leading our life and leading us to a true faithfulness that makes an impact.

Faithfulness in prayer - 1 Thessalonians 5:17 Never stop praying. When we are relying on God for every step and every decision we make, we realize that talking to our Abba is vital for direction and power. I'm actually not talking about having a daily prayer time, but an ongoing prayer walk that involveds God in every decision asking God to show me His ways as I go on this walk. You cannot talk to God too much and what He did to open this line of communication shows the value of being faithful to prayer throughout our days, hours, minutes, and yes, seconds. C.S Lewis wrote: The moment you wake up each morning, all your wishes and hopes for the day rush at you like wild animals. And the first job each morning consists in shoving it all back; in listening to that other voice, taking that other point of view, letting that other, larger, stronger, quieter life come flowing in.

Faithfulness in being filled - Paul wrote to the church in Ephesus the following words in Ephesians 5:18 Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit. If you are an alcohol drinker, just switch rely on something like alcohol to be your crutch, but ask the Holy Spirit to help you "throw away any crutches" and you will see a new way of living that is guided and empowered by the Holy Spirit you received when you received Jesus by faith. Paul knew first hand that he was not going to be received well by many because the message of salvation through Jesus was too radical for some and they sought to kill Him to stop the gospel. Paul relied on the Holy Spirit leading him all throughout the 10,000 miles he traveled with the gospel. Here is an example of Paul following the leading of the Holy Spirit. Acts 16:Next Paul and Silas traveled through the area of Phrygia and Galatia, because the Holy Spirit had prevented them from preaching the word in the province of Asia at that time. Then coming to the borders of Mysia, they headed north for the province of Bithynia, but again the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them to go there. So instead, they went on through Mysia to the seaport of Troas.

That night Paul had a vision: A man from Macedonia in northern Greece was standing there, pleading with him, “Come over to Macedonia and help us!” 10 So we decided to leave for Macedonia at once, having concluded that God was calling us to preach the Good News there.

I will give the two final steps tomorrow and I hope you will tune in to see what we need to do to live a life of faithfulness. Happy Easter. He is risen!!
