Beyond My Belief

Jeremiah 29: 10 This is what the Lord says: “You will be in Babylon for seventy years. But then I will come and do for you all the good things I have promised, and I will bring you home again. 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. 12 In those days when you pray, I will listen. 13 If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. 14 I will be found by you,” says the Lord. “I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes.

We have a promise for "better days" just as true as God's promises given through the prophet Jeremiah. In my limited understanding and limited faith, I many times doubt the promises of God, but God comes through anyway, and for that I say, Praise God. We can see God working, even when we doubt, and I doubt more than most, sadly. God spoke to Isaiah in Isaiah 41 and said the following words “But as for you, Israel my servant, Jacob my chosen one, descended from Abraham my friend, I have called you back from the ends of the earth, saying, ‘You are my servant.’ For I have chosen you and will not throw you away. 10 Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.

I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.

Even in my unbelief, the Lord will come through, but what do I do in "the middle?" I trust God. He has proven Himself again and again, and even when the odds are stacked against us, God comes through. God is working, and it is important for us to trust Him to keep working until the completion of what He wants. All of this has nothing to do with Baptist, Pentecostal, Church of Christ, or even Catholic. It does have EVERYTHING to do with trusting God, and even though it is all beyond my belief, keep trusting. God is faithful. I AM is faithful and true. In the above scripture, God says Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.

When we have TOTAL trust in God and step into that life of all-out faith, we have nothing else and no one else but God. And He is faithful to do what He has promised. All I know to do is call out to Him and trust Him to hear me and come through. The Psalmist GOT IT, and in Psalm 145:18 The Lord is close to all who call on him, yes, to all who call on him in truth.19 He grants the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cries for help and rescues them.20 The Lord protects all those who love him, but he destroys the wicked.

21 I will praise the Lord,

and may everyone on earth bless his holy name forever and ever.

I am not really that smart, but even I can see we need to call out to God and trust Him alone to supply, and He will, even at times when it is all beyond my belief.
