The Word on the Street - God is All Powerful!

Job 36:22 “Look, God is all-powerful. Who is a teacher like him? 23 No one can tell him what to do, or say to him, ‘You have done wrong.’ 24 Instead, glorify his mighty works, singing songs of praise. 25 Everyone has seen these things though only from a distance.
26 “Look, God is greater than we can understand. His years cannot be counted. 27 He draws up the water vapor and then distills it into rain. 28 The rain pours down from the clouds, and everyone benefits. 29 Who can understand the spreading of the clouds
and the thunder that rolls forth from heaven? 30 See how he spreads the lightning around him and how it lights up the depths of the sea. 31 By these mighty acts he nourishes[d] the people, giving them food in abundance. 32 He fills his hands with lightning bolts and hurls each at its target. 33 The thunder announces his presence; the storm announces his indignant anger.
I guess you have to decide ."Do I really believe this about the Lord, or is that some kind of manmade depiction gone awry?" No guesswork for me. I believe in God's Word and I believe Elihu hit the nail on the head about who is controlling all. it is our Almighty God!! Man's pride is shown as man's ignorance when man will not acknowledge the power of God. Get this that even Job, a man of God had to be reminded of God's power. Job had a faith beyond compare, according to God, and in the midst of being attacked by the devil his faith wavered "some." So good ole Elihu reminded him that GOD IS ALL POWERFUL!!
I need to be reminded of that quite often and when my faith wavers some I need my Elihu to say "David. God is all Powerful!" I love the scene from The Chosen where a demon-possessed man is attacking Mary and trying to bring up her past to her to defeat her by calling her the name Lillith. That name was associated with her life as a demon-possessed prostitute and she was released from that by Jesus. The demon-possessed man attacks one of the disciples and is choking him when up walks Jesus and he says "Out of Him!" The demon leaves the man and Jesus kneels down and says "welcome back." Jesus is our redeemer and He is all-powerful as the Son of God. One Word and everything changes! ONE WORD!
So here is the crisis of belief. Do you believe in this awesome, all-powerful God, or do you believe in the humanistic view of Jesus in a lost world and minimize who He is and what He can do? This does cause a crisis and maybe Elihu is reminding you and firming up your belief by what he said in the above verses. I hope that the latter is the case because God is All-Powerful! Here is Job's reply to Elihu's words. Job 37:1 “My heart pounds as I think of this.It trembles within me. 2 Listen carefully to the thunder of God’s voice as it rolls from his mouth. 3 It rolls across the heavens, and his lightning flashes in every direction. 4 Then comes the roaring of the thunder— the tremendous voice of his majesty. He does not restrain it when he speaks. 5 God’s voice is glorious in the thunder. We can’t even imagine the greatness of his power.
Job is a man of God. Job doesn't have to be talked into anything, no matter how rough the going is. Job is leaning toward a God explanation of his whole experience, so a God explanation is all he needs to prop him back up and realize that God is in control. Is that where you are? If not, read the Word of God and get your faith built back up because God is All-Powerful! One Word from God is all it takes? One Word from Jesus and this whole thing is over, so yes, one word from God is all it takes. Mark 4:39 Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.
