Luke 19:10 For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost.” I love to watch military movies and the ones that get me the most are the ones who have crazy "dog fights" that involves military jets. I love the manuevers and the high-flying antics of those pilots who have been trained so well. In almost every movie I watch they will have one jet pursuing another enemy jet and in attack mode they almost all shoot Heat-seeking missiles that follow and explode on the plane they are pursuing because they are putting off heat. The missiles are always faster than the jets and usually end up catching them and exploding.
Jesus was born, walked this earth, died on the cross, was buried, and rose again for one reason. To seek and save those who are lost!! Praise the Lord for our Life-Seeking Savior. Because of our sins we are enemies of the Father, but because of Jesus seeking us out ,and exploding the sin problem, we are right with God. Some of us ran for many years, but the grace of God caught us, and we surrendered to Jesus and He blew up our sin and Redeemed us.
Since we have received such a wonderful life-changing gift from God we should continue to surrender every day to His wonderful life-changing grace and become Savior- Seeking Believers. You might say "the shoe is on the other foot" as we now are compelled to seek Him and heat of His Word. When we are born again we take on a new life and that life is a Savior-Seeking life that involves us getting closer and closer to the image of Christ as provided by the Holy Spirit. In fact, Jesus said this in John 14:12 “I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father.13 You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father.14 Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it!
Why would Jesus take us into a war and give us no weapons. HE WOULDN'T!! The disciples were limited in power by their unbelief and when asked to heal an epileptic boy by his father failed miserably and then Jesus stepped in. In Mark 9:21-23 Jesus enters the scene and says 21 “How long has this been happening?” Jesus asked the boy’s father.
He replied, “Since he was a little boy. 22 The spirit often throws him into the fire or into water, trying to kill him. Have mercy on us and help us, if you can.” 23 “What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.” I have read this in many different translations and it all says the same thing, so I will have to explain it away for it to be any different than what the scripture says, and I will not explain anything away that is in the Word of God. Just believe it!! We have the equipment we need to live a life of power and a life that John 10:10 says is abundant. It is time to tap into that power and live a life of victory that only Jesus can give us and quit doubting the power of Jesus in our lives.
Because Jesus is a Life-Seeking Savior, we now have become a Savior-Seeking Believer and we are in the battle. Give in to the Savior and let Him explode in your life (in a good way) and see the effect He will have on every circumstance. Paul said it this way in Galatians 5:6 So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves.17 The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. FOLLOW THE SPIRIT!!
