Jesus is Coming Again and You Know It!!

Jesus is coming again and you know it better than most. Just look at the end of John 16 and you will see exactly what Jesus was trying to clear up for the disciples. John 16:29 Then his disciples said, “At last you are speaking plainly and not figuratively. 30 Now we understand that you know everything, and there’s no need to question you. From this we believe that you came from God.” 31 Jesus asked, “Do you finally believe? 32 But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when you will be scattered, each one going his own way, leaving me alone. Yet I am not alone because the Father is with me. 33 I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”
People are looking for the "big picture" in life, like where is this all going and what is going to happen in the mean time? And I am the same way. So I go back to the Word of God because it explains everything....EVERYTHING so that we can get a "clear" big picture. The disciples just realized that Jesus was speaking plainly or clearly without using illustrations or stories and that plain speech said it all. What did He say? John 16:16 “In a little while you won’t see me anymore. But a little while after that, you will see me again.” Jesus is coming again!!! Can you understand that? Coming Again!! There is your big picture. We will be here and then we will be with Jesus in heaven for eternity. You might ask; when? It doesn't matter when. It just matters that He is coming again and that is the plain, clear truth from Jesus Himself. Of course, the disciples turned to each other and asked "What does it mean? And in verse 19 says 19 Jesus realized they wanted to ask him about it, so he said,“Are you asking yourselves what I meant? I said in a little while you won’t see me, but a little while after that you will see me again. Jesus made the statement clear and concise about his death, burial, and resurrection. These were the departing words of Jesus to His disciples and they weren't cryptic at all. His words "cut to the chase" and the reality of His death was upon them but He told them to keep on trusting Him because there will be a time of rejoicing at the end of all of this.
Maybe you are discouraged today because things seem so out of sorts in our world and yes, they are out of sorts. But be of good cheer!!! We have the distinct blessing of knowing the first half of this clear truth did happen and we are anxiously awaiting the second part. The disciples in Chapter 16 could only think ahead to what Jesus said would happen. We know what already happened and so we should live out of that victory because in scripture we know it happened just as He said. We have seen and read of the fulfillment of scripture and our faith should be firm, not because of what we think might happen, but because of what we know DID happen. So we should glorify God in our lives by being people of faith and that faith is confirmed through what we read in the Bible. But....if you don't read the Bible and embrace this pure truth you will look at life so much differently. We are waiting for the return of our Savior (and it is going to happen) not as the early disciples, but as those who are closer to it. Plain words - Jesus is coming again!!! Rejoice and glorify God by proclaiming it from the mountaintops.
The Pilgrimage continues....
