How's Your Life Goin?

Writer: David WarrenDavid Warren

Galatians 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. To walk in the Spirit is to live in "The Flow" of the Spirit-filled life. That may sound a little "out there" to you and for sure, it is! To live in the freedom of the spirit is a faith walk that most others than you will not understand. Because it is tailored for each of us differently. When a man goes to get a "tailored" suit he is going to get measured, fitted, and that suit will be just for him. God has uniquely gifted each of us and the Holy Spirit takes that uniqueness to a whole new level of living. When Jesus met Saul on the road to Damascus He sought him out and blinded him so He could open up his eyes to a whole new life and a whole new Saul. Jesus set Saul free and Saul didn't even know He was imprisoned.

So when Paul the Apostle (a converted Saul) writes to the church at Galatia these words, Galatians 5:1 It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery. It meant something. FREEDOM!! The freedom Paul was writing about was very personal to him because he thought his life purpose was to be a learned religious leader and defender of the Mosaic Law. That was to be his life, and that lined up with family and societal foundations that had been set many, many years prior. Jesus saw a different direction for Saul, and His life, and called Saul to take the gospel to the world, and more specifically to the people Saul had always believed didn't deserve anything from God, the gentiles. By the way, I am a Gentile and praise God for the freedom of the gospel in my life. I am born-again and I am saved!

If you are born-again you will take this newfound freedom in the Spirit and live a whole different life. Further in Chapter 5 of Galatians Paul writes 13 For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but serve one another through love. It is easy to see that Paul is referencing the freedom given to him by Jesus and it is his desire to share that freedom with everyone he meets. So, if we are living in freedom we are doing ministry wherever we go. At church, at home, and at work we are living in "The Flow!" Step into the water of the flow and let God do a great work through your life and see the freedom in Christ become a reality to all who are born-again.

Paul goes on to share what is the end result of this kind of living and in verses 22-23 we see these words 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.24 Now those who belong to Christ Jesus crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

How's Your Life Goin? Hopefully, it is a life led by the Spirit of God!!
