2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
We all have breath and some of it is good breath and some of it is bad breath. Usually morning breath is bad breath and that is usually caused by keeping your mouth shut the whole night and all those inner smells jump up in your throat and just sit there and percolate and then you open your mouth and WAH..... Good breath is usually assisted by adding some flavorful gum to your mouth and chewing it for a little while and then "good breath." Listerine strips get the good breath going quickly, and a strong mouthwash will do the same. Of course, you can always get those curiously cool mints called Altoids and they will fix your breath in no time, if you can take the strong wintergreen taste.
God's breath is always refreshing for believers, and His breath comes right through the Word of God. In the above verse we see that all scripture is God-breathed and useful and the breath of God in His Word assures us that it is going to be beneficial. The list of benefits goes like this: teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness. Here is how God equipped us to be righteous as written by Paul in 2 Corinthians 5:21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. This righteousness should begin to infiltrate every area of our lives and when it does we are different. Our breath was quite stinky before Jesus because of our sin. But when the Lord comes into our lives our breath changes as we begin to see His Word make major, good changes in us that begins to resemble righteousness. Paul said earlier in chapter 5 that we are new creations and here is the exact word Paul wrote 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! The new is here!!! No waiting period to pass some kind of test. It is here!!! I guess you could say we begin to have breath much more like God's breath. As His Word is breathed into our lives we take on a curiously cool spiritual transformation that is pleasing to God and pleasing to all around us.
Keep in mind if we slumber in our walk with God and do not consistently keep receiving and growing in God's Word before long our breath will become like morning breath. If you have not been getting into God's Word and have been sleeping in your faith, then wake up and begin to study His word and let His Spiritual mouthwash make your life breath fresh again. Woo Hoo! God's Word is a fresh taste for all who are seeking. The teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training elements will freshen up any believer's life and set them on a new, wonderful course for living! All of this is possible because of God-breathed scriptures that further life change and grow us in our faith. Once you get a taste you won't go back to sleeping in your faith again. It's gargling time!!

Being in God's Word, is the best part of the day. I don't know why it took me so long to figure that out.
